Signed in pencil, inscribed 'eigen druk'
Dimentions print: 260x320 mm
Dimentions total: 530x627 mm
Condition: little ware on the thin Japanese paper sides as seen on the pictures, the work itself is in very good condition.

Escher self wrote about this print:
“Two raindrops fall into a pond and, with the concentric expanding ripples that they cause, disturb the still reflection of a tree with the moon behind it. The rings shown in perspective afford the only means whereby the receding surface of the water is indicated.’ (Graphic prints and drawings by M.C.Escher).
The sky is a lovely grey-brown colour. The colour of the ink and the pressure Escher applied with his bone egg spoon as he produced one print after another would undoubtedly have meant that each print had subtle and unique variations in colour. Prints are meant to be identical, but there are always slight differences in Escher’s prints because of the care with which he applied pressure with the little spoon.
