Frisian pendulum clock with mechanism with ships - G.E. Rode - late 20th century
Very beautiful Frisian pendulum clock with traditional 1-day Frisian movement.
The 1-day movement with mechanism with ships, half-hourly striking mechanism and alarm mechanism functions perfectly.
The oak case has a very nice mahogany patina.
In front of the pendulum window, there is a solid cast bronze depiction of a vase.
The hand painted dial is in perfect condition and in the arch of the dial is a harbour scene with a functioning mechanism with 3 ships.
On top of the clock, there are 2 angels with trumpets and mirrors at Atlas' side.
Measurements:
Height: 145 cm measured including Atlas
Width: 34 cm
Depth: 20.5 cm.
This clock was built by a clockmaker from Almelo, the Netherlands, who made about 10 clocks entirely by himself during his lifetime.
All of this clock was made by this clockmaker himself.
This clock was made in approximately 300 man-hours and only the best materials were used.
The clock is in great condition and has no signs of wear.
Pick up in the region of Markelo/the Netherlands is preferred.
This lot can be shipped worldwide in a custom made wooden box, or well-packaged in multiple carton boxes, although I do not prefer the latter method.
The shipping and packaging costs will be at the expense of the buyer.
