The Gilera Saturno is one of the world's most famous motorcycle. Born from a project by Giuseppe Salmaggi in 1940, it was produced in many versions for a total amount of 6,000 units, up until 1958. The evolution of the many versions over the years focused on cycling rather than on mechanics, which remained true to the original design: vertical cylinder, overhead valve engine, 84 x 90 mm bore and stroke. This unique bike, with an unmistakable design, is one among the most sought after by fans from all over the world. Single-cylinder four-stroke engine. Top speed: 134 km/h. Power: 22 hp. The front suspension is a parallelogram with telescopic fork, rear suspension is equipped with a swing arm with horizontal springs.
It was perfectly restored, preserving its originality. Paint and chrome are in excellent condition.
The engine and mechanical parts were reconditioned; the bike mounts a "Dell'Orto" original carburettor.
Approved for sidecar use.
A rare specimen, a unique chance! Do not miss it: this model will increase its value over years.
This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Controguerra (Teramo), Italy.
